Biography

Dr Bindu Kunjuraman is a fully qualified breast and general surgeon who delivers compassionate, personalised, and affordable care in both the public and private settings. Her practice is based on five principles: standard of care, a team approach, compassionate care, accessibility, and affordable healthcare.

Born into a family of teachers, Dr Kunjuraman grew up in India and undertook her initial surgical training at the Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, one of the oldest and largest public hospitals in Asia. She then moved to the United Arab Emirates to work as a specialist surgeon at Mafraq Hospital while also completing initial fellowship training (FRCS, Glasgow). After relocating to Western Australia in 2008, Dr Kunjuraman completed a second surgical fellowship (FRACS), followed by two years of further training in oncoplastic breast surgery, to provide her patients the best possible aesthetic outcomes. She maintains her skills by attending national and international conferences and workshops in general surgery and oncoplastic breast surgery.

She is a full member of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand (BreastSurgANZ), ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group (ANZBCT), and General Surgeons Australia (GSA). She is a ‘no gap’ surgeon for breast cancer and general surgery procedures performed in hospital.

Dr Kunjuraman subspecialises in oncoplastic breast surgery, breast reduction, augmentation & uplift, gall bladder, hernia, skin lesions, anorectal and bowel conditions, and acute surgical emergencies.
