Biography

Dr Hui Tee is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Windsor Gardens. In 2005, she completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the International Medical University Malaysia. She subsequently undertook specialist radiation oncology training in Western Australia with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).

In 2014, Dr Tee was appointed as the Bragg Proton Fellow at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where she led the comparative planning for proton and x-ray therapy research which provided the foundation to their current proton planning service. She obtained a RANZCR fellowship the following year.

In 2016, she commenced work as a radiation oncologist in New Zealand, before relocating to Adelaide, where she continues to work as the Senior Staff Specialist, Head of Paediatric Radiation Oncology and Director of Training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Throughout her career, Dr Tee has maintained a strong interest in education, research and clinical trials. She lectures at the University of South Australia, reviews scientific papers for leading medical journals and continues to play a key role in the Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research team’s proton-photon comparative planning services. Dr Tee also maintains active research collaborations and memberships with various notable industry groups.

Her clinical experience covers a wide range of solid tumour malignancies, with a special clinical interest in lymphoma, sarcoma, central nervous system (CNS) tumours, breast cancer, prostate cancer and skin cancer. She is experienced in the use of advanced radiation therapy technologies such as Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), prostate brachytherapy and stereotactic radiation therapy. Dr Tee is also passionate about the use of palliative radiation therapy to maximise quality of life, holistic care and optimise effective symptom control.
