The centre offers cutting-edge radiation therapy treatment for all cancer types, delivered by an experienced team who are dedicated to ensuring patients and their loved ones receive support and exceptional care every step of the way. 

The centre will be located within St Andrews Ipswich Private Hospital providing an integrated service for cancer patients in one location and is due to open mid-2025.

Icon Cancer Centre Ipswich offers state-of-the-art technology and techniques for all cancer types, including HyperArc for brain cancer, stereotactic radiation therapy for precision treatment of small tumours, and tattoo-less radiation therapy, using an advanced Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator.

No private health insurance is required for radiation oncology at Icon with up to 90% of fee covered by Medicare.

  • Stereotactic Radiation Therapy – An advanced technique that delivers pinpoint precise radiation therapy to treat small tumours with well-defined edges, including tumours that have spread from a primary cancer 
  • Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) using Varian’s IDENTIFY system for breast cancer patients – An advanced technology that delivers highly-accurate radiation therapy without the need to have permanent tattoo marks
