Biography
Anne is an experienced nurse practitioner (NP) at Icon Cancer Centre Midland and is a consulting palliative care NP at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital. She completed a Bachelor of Nursing and Mental Health Nursing in Belgium in 1990 before completing a Master of Nursing (NP) in Victoria, leading to endorsement as a NP in 2010.
Before settling in Perth in 2019, Anne worked as an oncology NP and supportive care NP in Victoria, New South Wales and Canberra.
Here, she was also an undergraduate and postgraduate nursing lecturer at Latrobe University, Deakin University and University of Canberra. Internationally, Anne has lectured at San Marco University, California, and provided supportive care training to nurses and doctors in developing countries such as Sri Lanka, Russia (Moscow and Novosibirsk), and Cuba.
In addition to presenting at multiple national and international conferences, Anne has co-authored several published articles in medical journals and is an expert reviewer of the Cancer Council information booklets. She is a key member of the special palliative care interest group with MASCC/ISOO.
Anne provides a bulk-billing service to cancer patients in the greater Midland, Wheatbelt and surrounding areas. Her expertise covers complex pain management and treatment related symptom management.
