Dr Siao Hoon

Biography

Dr Siao Hoon brings a supportive and calm approach to her practice. She is committed to nurturing and communicating openly with her patients to ensure they are well-informed throughout all stages of their treatment.

Dr Siao Hoon is a passionate medical oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Midland. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Western Australia and spent the early years of her medical training at Royal Perth Hospital. Subsequently, Dr Hoon completed an advanced medical oncology traineeship and clinical trials fellowship at Sydney’s Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals, gaining extensive experience in managing a broad range of cancers.

Dr Hoon maintains a strong interest in research and clinical trials in both her private practice and role as medical oncology consultant at Geraldton Regional Hospital and St John of God Midland Hospital. She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a member of several leading Australian and New Zealand cancer trial groups. Dr Hoon is actively completing clinical research at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in the area of malignant mesothelioma as part of her WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network Cancer fellowship. Her clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies with a special interest in breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancer and general oncology.

Dr Siao Hoon consults at Icon Cancer Centre Midland each Wednesday.
