Biography
Dr Sarah Leeson is a compassionate radiation oncologist dedicated to patient-centred care. She prioritises a multidisciplinary approach and joint decision-making with her patients, ensuring they feel heard, valued, and comfortable throughout their treatment.
Dr Sarah Leeson is an experienced radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Gold Coast Private and Icon Cancer Centre Gold Coast University Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Australian National University, Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (B PsychSci) from the University of Queensland, and Postgraduate Diploma of Biomedical Sciences Bond University.
Dr Leeson received specialist radiation oncology training through the Western Sydney Local Health District across a range of hospitals including Westmead, Blacktown, Nepean, RPA Lifehouse and Lismore Base Hospital. Her training included oncological care across both urban and regional settings, with a key focus on sarcoma management, brachytherapy, and paediatric oncology.
Dr Leeson became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2023. She also maintains an active involvement in the education and mentorship of medical students, fostering the next generation of healthcare providers.
Her clinical experience covers a wide range of solid tumour malignancies, with a special interest in breast cancer, gynaecological cancer, prostate cancer and skin cancer.
