Biography
Dr Ryan Droney is a Clinical Haematologist with expertise in the management of malignant and non-malignant blood disorders. Drawing on training in both clinical and laboratory haematology, he provides personalised, evidence-based care and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and referring clinicians to support the best possible outcomes for patients. Dr Droney is committed to clear communication, compassionate care and delivering high-quality treatment close to home.
Dr Ryan Droney is a Clinical Haematologist at Icon Cancer Centre Chermside, with dual training in clinical and laboratory haematology. He completed a Bachelor of Science followed by a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Queensland. After internship and residency training at Princess Alexandra Hospital, he undertook Basic Physician Training at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Bundaberg Base Hospital.
Dr Droney subsequently completed Advanced Training in Clinical Haematology at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Mater Hospital Brisbane before undertaking Advanced Laboratory Haematology Training with QML Pathology. He currently practises as a Haematologist with QML Pathology, Southeast Haematology and Icon Cancer Care.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. His expertise spans the diagnosis and management of a broad range of blood disorders, including haematological malignancies and complex benign haematology conditions. His clinical interests include myeloproliferative neoplasms, myelodysplastic syndromes, plasma cell disorders including myeloma, and lymphoma.
