Dr Patrick Morgan

Biography

Dr Patrick Morgan is committed to providing the highest standard of care for his patients, through utilising the latest advancements in radiation oncology to achieve the best possible outcomes. With a strong foundation in research and education, he continuously strives to improve treatment approaches and mentors the next generation of medical professionals.

Dr Morgan has expertise in Gamma Knife radiosurgery and advanced stereotactic radiation techniques for both benign and malignant conditions, as well as functional disorders. He has a particular interest in craniofacial pain, including trigeminal neuralgia, and works through the Icon Herston Gamma Knife service to provide a rapid-access multidisciplinary clinic for patients. This clinic facilitates coordinated input from radiation oncology, neurology, and neurosurgery through a single referral pathway, helping patients access timely assessment and treatment.

Dr Morgan is an experienced radiation oncologist, consulting at the following Icon locations: Herston (Gamma Knife), North Lakes, and Auchenflower. He also holds a public appointment with Icon Cancer Centre Gold Coast University Hospital. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Griffith University in 2015, following a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Queensland. In 2024, he completed his specialist training in radiation oncology and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).

After training across several leading Queensland cancer centres, Dr Morgan completed a stereotactic fellowship at Greenslopes Private Hospital with a focus on central nervous system and lung cancers. His research has been published in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, and he has presented at the RANZCR Annual Scientific Meeting. He is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland and remains committed to advancing access to innovative cancer and radiosurgical treatments.

Outside of medicine, Dr Morgan enjoys playing guitar, singing, and spending time with his family.
