Biography
Dr Kathy You is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s individual needs. Her passion for research and education drives her work to stay at the forefront of oncology, using the latest techniques to provide the best possible care for her patients. Dr You is dedicated to continuous learning, collaboration and creating a supportive environment where patients and their families feel heard, respected and empowered.
Dr Kathy You is a medical oncologist who provides consultation services at Icon Cancer Centre Greenslopes. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Bond University in 2011 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Dr You undertook advanced training across several major Queensland hospitals and completed a two-year Clinical Research Fellowship at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital.
Committed to improving access and equity in oncology care, Dr You is currently pursuing a Masters of Philosophy focused on equity in cancer clinical trials in Australia. Her research has led to invitations as a speaker at both national and international conferences and published in leading journals. With a special interest in breast cancer, Dr You has led specialised breast clinics at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and continues to contribute to clinical education, mentoring and curriculum development for medical students. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and is also the Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Queensland Young Oncology Group (YOGA), helping build a collaborative community of early-career oncologists.
Dr You is fluent in Korean and English, ensuring patients and their families feel comfortable communicating in their preferred language.
Dr You accepts referrals for all cancer types and has a special interest in breast, gynaecological and gastrointestinal cancers.
