Biography

Dr Jenna Cox is dedicated to providing evidence-based care with a strong emphasis on communication. She is committed to a patient-centred approach ensuring that each patients’ needs, values and concerns are respected while delivering high-quality care.

Dr Jenna Cox is a clinical haematologist at Icon Cancer Centre Southport. She completed her Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Griffith University in 2014, followed by a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (MPHTM) at James Cook University. She undertook her medical training at Townsville University Hospital before advancing to clinical and laboratory haematology training across several major institutions, including Townsville University Hospital, Toowoomba Hospital, Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Mater Hospital Brisbane, Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, and Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Holding dual fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA), Dr Cox is actively engaged in clinical research and remains committed to advancing the field of haematology. She is a member of leading research groups, including the Australasian Leukaemia & Lymphoma Group (ALLG) and the Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand (HSANZ).

With a strong background in public health, Dr Cox integrates an understanding of the social determinants of health into her clinical practice ensuring a patient-centred approach. She is a passionate advocate for medical education, and optimising patient outcomes through innovative and evidence-based medicine.
