Biography
Dr Hsing Hwa Lee is a Medical Oncologist dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based cancer care. He has extensive experience in treating a broad range of malignancies, with particular expertise in lung, gastrointestinal and genitourinary cancers. Dr Lee is committed to working closely with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams to develop personalised treatment plans that support the best possible outcomes and patient experience.
Dr Hsing Hwa Lee is a Medical Oncologist practising at Icon Cancer Centre Hobart and Royal Hobart Hospital. He graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and also holds a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Hons) from International Medical University. He completed basic physician training at Princess Alexandra Hospital before relocating to Western Australia to undertake advanced training in medical oncology.
During his specialist training, Dr Lee worked across Fiona Stanley Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, gaining broad experience in the management of diverse cancer types. He was awarded the prestigious WA Cancer Fellowship and served as Principal Investigator on research investigating the role of FAPI-46 PET imaging in predicting prognosis and response to immunotherapy in metastatic cancers. In 2024, he attained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Medical Oncology.
Dr Lee has extensive clinical trial experience and has contributed to a number of research publications and conference presentations. His current clinical practice focuses predominantly on lung, gastrointestinal and genitourinary cancers, while continuing to provide care for patients with a broad range of tumour types. He is also actively involved in medical education through his role as Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Tasmania and ongoing teaching commitments.
