Biography

Dr Georgina Hodges is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to her patients. She strives to advance the field of haematology, improve patient outcomes, and expand access to clinical trials.

Dr Georgina Hodges is a clinical haematologist at Icon Cancer Centre South Brisbane. She completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at James Cook University in 2005 before undertaking dual training in clinical and laboratory haematology at Townsville University Hospital, Pathology Queensland, Australian Red Cross Lifeblood and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Dr Hodges holds fellowships with both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).

With a strong commitment to advancing clinical research, education and training, Dr Hodges has held staff specialist appointments in clinical and laboratory haematology at Townsville University Hospital and Barwon Health. She is currently a senior staff specialist in clinical haematology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Dr Hodges has been principal investigator on multiple national and international clinical trials and is an active member of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG), contributing to improved access to innovative treatments and patient-centred care. She also previously practised at Icon Cancer Centre Townsville and has been extensively involved in physician education and training across Queensland and Victoria.

Her clinical experience covers a wide range of malignant and non-malignant blood disorders including acute and chronic leukaemia, multiple myeloma and lymphoma as well as autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
