Biography
Dr Daisy Atwell is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred cancer care for patients in Far North Queensland.
Dr Daisy Atwell is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Liz Plummer. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at James Cook University and undertook specialist training in radiation oncology across major Queensland hospitals in Cairns, Townsville, the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
Dr Atwell has a strong interest in research, education and quality improvement. She is a PhD candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast, with research focused on functional imaging guided radiation therapy dose escalation in head and neck cancer. She has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at national radiation conferences, including the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).
She has clinical experience across a broad range of solid tumour malignancies and subspecialises in gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, haematological cancer, and head and neck cancer, as well as stereotactic radiotherapy techniques.
