Biography

Dr Apsara Windsor is a senior radiation oncologist specialising in breast and gastrointestinal cancers, stereotactic radiation therapy for oligometastatic disease and liver malignancies. She practises at Icon Cancer Centre Macquarie University Hospital and Icon Cancer Centre Gosford, caring for patients across Sydney and the Central Coast.

Dr Windsor is committed to personalised, evidence-based cancer care and works closely with surgeons, medical oncologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure treatment is tailored to each patient. She has extensive experience in breast and gastrointestinal cancers and has led the development of treatment protocols, advanced radiotherapy techniques and clinical care pathways in these areas.

She completed her medical degree with Honours at the University of New South Wales and trained in radiation oncology at Prince of Wales, Westmead, Nepean and Liverpool Hospitals. Following a clinical research fellowship at Liverpool Hospital, she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2011.

Dr Windsor has a strong interest in translating emerging evidence into contemporary clinical practice. She is a founder, former Chair and ongoing Executive member of the RANZCR Breast Interest Group and contributes to Cancer Institute NSW eviQ reference committees and Clinical Advisory Groups for breast and gastrointestinal cancers.

Her clinical leadership experience includes five years as Head of Department of Radiation Oncology at the Central Coast Cancer Centre, where she led multidisciplinary services and initiatives to improve treatment pathways, access to radiotherapy and quality of care.

Dr Windsor has held, and continues to hold senior national leadership roles in radiation oncology. She is currently Chief Censor of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology, RANZCR, overseeing specialist training standards, assessment and education across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. 

She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle and remains actively involved in clinical research, medical education, quality improvement and mentorship.
