Biography
Dr Andry Santoso is a Medical Oncologist who cares for people with a broad range of cancers, with a particular interest in gastrointestinal cancers, including colorectal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal cancers.
He understands that a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming and is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each patient's individual circumstances. He works closely with patients, their families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients feel informed, supported and confident throughout their treatment journey.
Dr Santoso completed his specialist Medical Oncology training across leading hospitals in South Australia and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2024. He subsequently undertook a clinical research fellowship before working as a Medical Oncologist at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in London, one of the world's leading cancer centres. There, he gained extensive experience in all aspects of gastrointestinal oncology, working alongside internationally recognised specialists in the management of colorectal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary and upper gastrointestinal cancers.
During his time at the Royal Marsden, Dr Santoso was actively involved in the clinical trials program, contributing to both commercial and investigator-initiated studies, helping to bring innovative new treatments to patients. He also pursued translational research in pancreatic cancer and was awarded competitive research funding to investigate the role of microbiomes in pancreatic cancer.
Dr Santoso remains committed to integrating the latest research and evidence-based treatments into clinical practice while providing personalised, patient-centred care. Outside of medicine, Dr Santoso enjoys running marathons, rock climbing, brewing specialty coffee and photography.
