Biography
Dr Andrew Fantoni is an experienced Medical Oncologist with over 20 years in healthcare. He is committed to delivering patient-centred cancer care, with a strong focus on clear communication, safe prescribing, and collaborative multidisciplinary treatment. Dr Fantoni is passionate about improving access to high-quality cancer care, particularly for patients in regional communities.
Dr Andrew Fantoni is a Medical Oncologist with over 20 years of experience in healthcare. He began his career as a pharmacist after completing a Bachelor of Pharmacy at Curtin University before pursuing a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) at the University of Western Australia.
He completed his physician and medical oncology training across major tertiary hospitals including Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Fiona Stanley Hospital. His training across these leading institutions has provided him with extensive experience in managing a broad range of cancers.
In 2023, Dr Fantoni was awarded a WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network Fellowship, recognising his commitment to improving cancer outcomes in regional populations. His research focused on improving lung cancer outcomes across regional Western Australia.
Dr Fantoni is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care and is widely recognised for his clear, approachable communication style. He prioritises patient education and ensures patients feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their cancer journey.
Dr Fantoni has a particular clinical interest in breast and urological cancers, including renal cell carcinoma (RCC), bladder cancer and prostate cancer. He also has extensive experience in the management of colorectal cancer.
