Biography
Dr Gleisner is a highly experienced Radiation Oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Warrnambool. In 1996, she completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Melbourne. She undertook specialist Radiation Oncology training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR), in 2006.
Having grown up on a dairy farm in regional Victoria, Dr Gleisner has a deep commitment to serving regional communities. She has spent her career working across Victoria initially in Bendigo, but has also held positions in Ballarat, Geelong, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Melbourne and Warrnambool. She actively promotes access to advanced cancer care across Victoria and is dedicated to offering exceptional and empathetic care to regional patients.
Dr Gleisner led the establishment of the integrated multidisciplinary cancer service at Bendigo Hospital and the South West Regional Cancer Centre in Warrnambool. She has served as Site Director at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Bendigo and Clinical Advisor for the Victorian Rapid Plan Committee. Dr Gleisner has also played a key role in medical education, clinical governance, and clinical research and trials.
She is proficient in the latest techniques and technology in radiation oncology, including Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT), standard 3D conformal planning, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT).
