Dr Tanya Holt is committed to delivering personalised, patient-focused care. She brings a calm and evidence-based approach to her practice and her patients benefit from her strong understanding and knowledge of cancer care.

Biography

Dr Tanya Holt is an experienced genitourinary radiation oncologist bringing over 15 years’ experience in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate and bladder cancer. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) and an active member of American (ASTRO) and European (ESTRO) radiation oncology societies.

Dr Holt is actively involved in prostate cancer research, education and patient advocacy through her roles with Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) and the Faculty of Radiation Oncology Genitourinary Group (FROGG) Executive Committee and was the FROGG Committee Chair for 2 years. In her roles with PCFA, FROGG and BEAT Bladder Cancer Australia she has been actively involved in writing  patient education resources to ensure patients have the best, easy to read information possible to make informed decisions about their cancer treatments. Dr Holt actively participates as an investigator and recruiter for many key clinical trials investigating radiation therapy treatments for prostate cancer, bladder cancer and kidney cancer.

Dr Holt believes in the holistic treatment of all cancer patients throughout their disease trajectory, and with a special interest also in palliative radiation treatment, she established the first Australian Rapid Response Palliative Radiation Clinic and pathway for the first Australian advanced practice palliative radiation therapist at the Mater Hospital where she has a public hospital appointment.

Her clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies within the abdomen and pelvis, with a special interest in prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer and anorectal cancer.
