Biography

Dr St.John Newman is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Greenslopes and Icon Cancer Centre Springfield.

Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr Newman completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) at the University of Queensland. He worked as a pharmacist for four years before and during his medical training. In 2014, Dr Newman completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Melbourne. He subsequently undertook specialist radiation oncology training at the North Coast Cancer Institute in New South Wales and Icon Cancer Centre Gold Coast University Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital in Queensland. He is also a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).

Dr Newman is trained in the use of cutting-edge radiation therapy treatments and maintains an active involvement in clinical research and trials to inform and continually improve the care provided to his patients. His clinical experience covers a wide range of solid tumour malignancies, with a special clinical interest in head and neck cancer, central nervous system (CNS) tumours, complex skin cancers and thoracic malignancies.
