Biography
Dr Santosh Kumar is a Radiation Oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Toowoomba. Dr Kumar completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Science (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 2013.
Dr Kumar completed a clinical Head and Neck fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, specialising in mucosal and cutaneous Head and Neck cancers. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2024.
Prior to his Radiation Oncology training, Dr Kumar completed an undergraduate Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (B.Sc.) majoring in cancer biology and immunology from Monash University, Victoria. He also completed two years of physician training through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), working in Medical Oncology and Palliative Care.
Alongside his practice at Icon, he is an Associate Lecturer at The University of Queensland’s Medical School.
Dr Kumar’s clinical experience covers a wide range of solid tumour malignancies, and he has a special interest in Head and Neck cancer (mucosal and cutaneous/skin), skin cancer, palliative medicine and lung cancer.
