He is also passionate about environmental sustainability in healthcare, ensuring a holistic and ethical approach to patient care.
Biography
Dr Patrick Morgan is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Griffith University in 2015, following a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Queensland. In 2024, he completed his specialist training in radiation oncology and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR). Dr Morgan also consults at Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and provides a fortnightly outreach clinic at Redcliffe.
Dr Morgan has trained across several radiation oncology centres in Queensland, including the Gold Coast University Hospital, Royal Brisbane Hospital, and Princess Alexandra Hospital. He has also undertaken a stereotactic fellowship at Greenslopes, focusing on CNS and lung cancers. His research has been published in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, and he has presented at the RANZCR Annual Scientific Meeting. He is a volunteer article reviewer for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology and serves on the RANZCR Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Working Group.
In addition to his clinical and research roles, Dr Morgan is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, where he is committed to mentoring the next generation of medical professionals. He is actively involved in medical and environmental advocacy, with memberships in organisations such as Doctors for the Environment and Greenpeace.
Outside of medicine, Dr Morgan enjoys playing guitar and singing, and he is a member of the Queensland Medical Choir. He values time with family and maintains a strong passion for sustainability and ethical healthcare practices.
