Biography

Dr Nathan Bain is a consultant medical oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Townsville. In 2015 he completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Queensland and undertook specialist medical oncology training at Monash Health, Ballarat Health Service and Northern Health in Victoria. In 2022 Dr Bain became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and completed a medical oncology clinical trials fellowship at Monash Health, with a focus on the management and treatment of melanoma, gastrointestinal, lung and head and neck cancers.

Dr Bain has an active interest in research and clinical trials, with a particular focus on the development and trialling of new drugs therapies in lung cancer and gastrointestinal cancer. He has published several articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and presented at state and national meetings. His clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies with a special interest in colorectal cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer and melanoma.
