Biography

Dr Masaki Bannai provides compassionate, patient-centred cancer care tailored to each individual’s needs and circumstances. He places a strong emphasis on clear communication and works closely with patients and their loved ones to support them throughout every stage of treatment.

Dr Masaki Bannai is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Noosa. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 2014. Prior to his medical degree, Dr Bannai obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc.), majoring in Biophysics and Studio Art from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo.

He undertook specialist radiation oncology training across major Queensland hospitals, including Townsville University Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, John Flynn Private Hospital, and oncology services in Cairns and on the Gold Coast. Dr Bannai became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2024.

Dr Bannai has a strong academic and teaching background and has previously held appointments as an associate lecturer at the University of Queensland School of Medicine. He has presented at national and international scientific meetings and has authored several peer-reviewed publications.

His approach is guided by evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary collaboration, with a focus on delivering high-quality care while supporting the overall treatment experience.
