Biography
Dr Mark Bentley is a graduate of The University of Queensland Medical School (Class of 1991). He commenced his career in internal medicine at the Mater Hospital South Brisbane and has held appointments as Visiting Consultant Haematologist to the Mater Hospital (2000-2002) and Princess Alexandra Hospital (2000 to 2007).
He commenced private practice in 2001 and established the Queensland Haematology & Oncology Group (QHOG) based at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and subsequently Brisbane Private Hospital. Mark was Director of Haematology at St Andrew’s between 2002 and 2004. In 2008, QHOG was incorporated into Icon Group with Mark taking a lead role in the expansion of services at Icon Cancer Centre Chermside.
Dr Bentley maintains expertise in all aspects of diagnostic and clinical haematology, including management of myeloma, lymphoma, leukaemia and stem cell transplantation. He is a co-investigator in a broad range of clinical trials within Icon and maintains close contact with research endeavours at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
