He has a keen interest in using the latest technology and techniques to help provide the best outcome for patients.
Biography
Dr Marcus Hu is a Radiation Oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Springfield and Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes. Following the completion of his Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery and Science (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 2014, Dr Hu undertook specialist training in radiation oncology. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2022.
Dr Hu has a deep interest in clinical research and trials and has published in various peer-reviewed academic journals including the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology. He has been the Principal Investigator for TROG trials at Townsville Hospital. He is committed to continuously improving the quality of care provided to patients through an active involvement in departmental protocols and guidelines.
He has worked at various hospitals across Southeast Queensland and North Queensland, with his most recent appointment as a staff specialist in Townsville University Hospital between 2022 and 2024. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Hu was co-chair of High-risk Skin Cancer MDT at Townsville University Hospital. He also shows his commitment to mentoring the next generation of oncologists through his Senior Lecturer role at James Cook University.
