Biography
Dr Luke Nicholls is a consultant radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Cairns. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at the University of Queensland in 2012 and subsequently undertook sub-speciality training in stereotactic radiation therapy and uro-oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. After returning to Australia he worked as a consultant radiation oncologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, gaining extensive experience in managing a broad range of cancers. In 2020, he became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) after completing training throughout Queensland.
Dr Nicholls maintains a strong interest in clinical research, quality assurance and medical education. He is actively completing a clinical research fellowship in stereotactic radiation therapy at Icon Greenslopes and is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland. His clinical experience covers a broad range of malignancies with special clinical interest in prostate cancer, bladder cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer and haematological malignancies.
