Dr Lekshmi Nair is a strong believer in the concept of working together, alongside her colleagues and patients to ensure the best possible outcomes. She works closely with her patients and their families and is passionate about supporting them through their cancer.
Biography
Dr Nair is an experienced Radiation Oncologist currently consulting and treating at Icon Toowoomba. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Government Medical College, Trivandrum under the University of Kerala. Dr Nair is experienced in various new radiation therapy technologies including VMAT, IGRT and Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) and has played an instrumental role in establishing radiation oncology in regional areas. She helped bring about a radiation oncology service in Rockhampton and lead a busy department benefitting the local community.
Having spent time in both regional and tertiary centres within Queensland, Dr Nair understands the needs of her patients and has had a wealth of experience managing complex oncology cases. Dr Nair also understands the importance of working within a multidisciplinary setting, and regularly attends multidisciplinary team meetings with colleagues to discuss patient cases and achieve optimal outcomes.
Sub specialties: treats all malignancies, special interest in lung, colorectal, gynaecological, genitourinary, breast and skin cancers.
