Biography

Dr Kim-Lin Chiew is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Auchenflower, Icon Cancer Centre Greenslopes and Icon Cancer Centre Redland. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honours at the University of New South Wales and undertook specialist radiation oncology training at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney. In 2016, Dr Chiew became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) and subsequently completed a two-year fellowship in breast cancer and lung cancer at Westmead Hospital, with a focus on quality of care and improvement. She is a PhD candidate investigating quality of care in the management of lung cancer at the University of Queensland. Dr Chiew worked as a radiation oncology staff specialist at Liverpool and Campbelltown Hospitals from 2018 to 2022 before relocating to Brisbane, Queensland.

Dr Chiew is a strong advocate for clinical research and medical education, with a passion for continuously improving the quality of care in radiation therapy and cancer management. She has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals and is a regular presenter at national and international oncology conferences. In 2016, Dr Chiew was awarded a RANZCR research grant for her work in quality of care for cancer management. Dr Chiew is actively involved in teaching and examining programs for advanced trainees, junior medical officers and undergraduate students. She previously held positions as Radiation Oncology Junior Medical Officer Supervisor and Director of Training Radiation Oncology Advanced Trainees at Campbelltown Hospital.

Dr Chiew can converse in English and Spanish, and looks forward to supporting patients in a language they are familiar with. Her current appointments include Radiation Oncology Staff Specialist at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. Dr Chiew’s clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies with a special interest in breast cancer, lung cancer, palliative care and lymphoma.
