Biography
Dr Zia Ansari is a consultant medical oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Mackay and Icon Cancer Centre South Brisbane, visiting at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Private Hospital Mackay and staff specialist in medical oncology at Mackay Base Hospital.
Dr Ansari completed basic physician training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and was awarded an academic title as an associate lecturer with the University of Queensland for his active involvement with medical student education. He completed advanced training in medical oncology, at Calvary Mater Newcastle and became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Dr Ansari has experience and clinical interest in oncology across multiple tumour streams and works closely with cancer patients and their families to achieve their goals. He has an interest in clinical research and involved in clinic trials. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at James Cook University and actively involved in teaching Medical students and Junior Medical Staff
