Prof. Sankha Mitra trained as a Cancer Surgeon in India and worked as an oncologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. He worked as a Consultant Oncologist for 13 years in the UK specialising in breast, lung and skin cancers. Prof Mitra was the principal investigator for over 60 clinical trials. He was National Cancer Reviewer for the UK Dopartment of Health and Associate at the General Medical Council UK. He is passionate about medical education and is now leading the expansion of cancer services in country South Australia. Prof Mitra also worked for 2 years at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. He is very keen to develop a dedicated Phase I Trials Unit at 480 Specialist Centre in partnership with the Adelaide Cancer Centre.
