Biography

Dr Charbel Bejjani is a palliative care specialist at Icon Cancer Centre Revesby. In 2011, he completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney. Following basic physician training, Dr Bejjani undertook four years of advanced palliative medicine training at Liverpool, Braeside, St George, Bankstown, Calvary and Campbelltown Hospitals. He previously worked as a palliative care staff specialist at Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals, where he contributed to significant service and quality improvements including developing and chairing Departmental Morbidity and Mortality Meetings and improving implementation of the Palliative Care Outcomes Collaborative.

During his training, Dr Bejjani gained extensive clinical experience in palliative medicine with a special interest in innovative, specialised pharmacotherapeutics and interventional palliative care. He maintains a strong interest in clinical research and is a passionate advocate for medical education on the benefits of early palliative care interventions. He is also committed to addressing the barriers to accessing palliative care in the culturally and linguistically diverse populations.

Alongside his practice at Icon Cancer Centre Revesby, Dr Bejjani currently works as a palliative care staff specialist at Bankstown Hospital. Dr Bejjani speaks fluent Arabic and English and looks forward to supporting patients in a language they are familiar with.
