Biography
Dr Michael Hsieh is a dedicated Radiation Oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Geelong and Warrnambool. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) at the University of Queensland in 2013. Dr Hsieh undertook his specialist training in radiation oncology across several prominent healthcare institutions, including New South Wales Health, Gosford and Coffs Harbour, and the Austin Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne. Dr Hsieh became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2024 and is amember of the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) and Australian and New Zealand Head and Neck Cancer Society (ANZHNCS). He has also been recognised for his academic excellence, receiving the CE Eddy Prize in 2020 for his success in the RANZCR Part 1 examinations.
He has authored several peer-reviewed publications, contributing to advances in radiation oncology, including research on radiation techniques for complex cancer cases. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hsieh is committed to medical education and has served as an Associate Lecturer and Medical Student Examiner at University of New South Wales (UNSW) School of Medicine from 2021 to 2024, Lecturer for the Victorian Radiation Oncology Training network and an affiliate Senior Lecturer at Deakin University School of Medicine.
