Biography
Dr Jonathon Hutton is a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Cairns and Icon Cancer Centre Cairns (Liz Plummer). He began his formal education at the University of Adelaide where he obtained his Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) with Honours in 2001. After completing a post-doctoral research fellowship at Harvard University in 2007, Dr Hutton went on to earn his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Flinders University and subsequently began his training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. In 2018 he became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) and completed a PhD at the University of Adelaide. In 2019 he began working at Northern Territory Radiation Oncology in Darwin.
Dr Hutton is a passionate researcher, having received several research awards, and is a dedicated member of several professional organisations including the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP), the Australasian Brachytherapy Group (ABG) and the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology. His clinical experience covers a wide range of solid tumour malignancies with a special interest in lung cancer, skin cancer, gynaecological cancer, head and neck cancer and haematological malignancies.
