Dr Caroline Round brings a compassionate and empathetic approach to her patient care. With extensive experience and a deep understanding of treating patients in rural and regional areas, she is dedicated to delivering personalised care to each patient based on their individual needs, circumstances and treatment goals.
Biography
Dr Caroline Round is an experienced radiation oncologist who consults and treats patients at Icon Cancer Centre Maitland and Icon Cancer Centre Gosford. She also provides consultation services at Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital, 35 kilometres north of Icon Gosford on the Central Coast of New South Wales.
Dr Round completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of London and subsequently received specialist radiation oncology training across various hospitals in Brisbane. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 2009 and completed a National Radiation Oncology fellowship through Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge, UK in 2012.
Dr Round has extensive experience providing cancer care in rural and regional areas of New South Wales, including the Central Coast, Hunter Valley Region, New England Local Health District and Tamworth; as well as South Western Sydney, including Liverpool, Campbelltown and Bowral. Through this, she has developed a deep understanding of the unique needs patients from these areas may have.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Round is an active member of local multidisciplinary meetings in the Hunter Valley and Gosford areas, ensuring comprehensive and collaborative patient care. She is also actively involved in clinical research and trials and medical education.
Dr Round’s clinical experience covers a wide range of cancers, with a special interest in breast cancer, genitourinary cancer, gynaecological cancer, haematological malignancies and gastrointestinal cancer.
