Biography
Dr Colin Dicks completed schooling in Johannesburg, South Africa before completing an undergraduate medical degree at the University of Pretoria in 1990. Dr Dicks then completed a Master of Medicine (Radiation Oncology) in 1998. After graduating in South Africa, he moved to New Zealand where he completed the Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) qualification and Diploma in Palliative Medicine (Cardiff).
After returning to South Africa for a year, he was offered a position on the Sunshine Coast, where he has been practising as a radiation oncologist since 2004. Since then he has completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), published a book, ‘About Dying: How to live in the face of death’ and developed a website that addresses the challenges around death and dying.
Dr Dicks has extensive experience and special interest in lung cancer, prostate cancer and breast cancer as well as palliative care and psychosocial issues within oncology.
